French Exchange

A French exchange is organised every year for 2nd year pupils with students from Collège Saint Joseph in Wattrelos, a town near the city of Lille in the northeast of France. French pupils visit our school in October. In March our pupils have the great opportunity to visit their pen pals and experience French culture,  to practise their French and to visit interesting sites around Wattrelos and Lille. The French department is encouraged by the number of students who continue to exchange with their French partner through to leaving certificate. Such exposure to the language and French culture is invaluable to them in their development of oral and aural skills. Many past students have gone on to study French at university and college level.
