My favourite fictional character - Lisa Simpson

Lisa Simpson was just 8 years old when the popular show “The Simpsons” was first aired. The brilliant mastermind series was created by a man called Matt Groening. Yeardley Smith voiced the girl Lisa. The show first appeared on television screens in 1989. I vividly remember the last time I watched the first episode when I was really young.
Lisa is average size for her age. She has blonde hair and an orange dress, that she wears all the time. She wears pearls around her neck that she wears all the time as we'll. Her mom wears pears too, but they both wear different ones though, Lisa has white ones, and her mom has red ones. Lisa plays the saxophone and is quite talented. She plays at school and occasionally even plays a solo. Homer sometimes finds it annoying when he's in a bad mood, but sometimes he sings along with her
Lisa is the middle child in her family and the smartest. She isn't sporty but once she was the coach for a baseball game, but they all wanted her out because, to them, she was too strict. Lisa's a nerd, and people don't think they can hang out with her, like once her test papers got switched with a boy called Ralph, and he's not the brightest person, and so she got an F. After that everyone started hanging out with her, till the teacher came over to her and switched them back around, so she got an A. All her new friends walked away from her, and left her all alone.
You never really know what to think about her, sometimes she can be a girly girl, but she also has a devious side. When she's bad, she can be really funny, but then thinks about what she did then goes back to being a girly girl.
Lisa has a brother who is the opposite of her. Bart always annoying not only her but her mom and dad, his teachers, neighbors in fact, everyone. The only thing both of them have in common is that they are both in love with the“The itchy and scratchy show”, even though it can be violent, they both love it. Lisa also has a sister called Maggie. Maggie is only a baby and cannot talk, but is one of the funniest characters on the show. She's not your average baby and she does really weird things, I think she gets her idiosyncratic from her dad, and so does Bart.
She has secret admirer, that really isn't a secret. Her secret admirer is a boy called Milhouse, who lives next door. He's Bart's best friend as well. At one stage, another boy had a crush on her, but the only reason he likes her is because on Valentine's Day, she was the only one who gave him a card. After that, he wouldn't leave her alone.
Lisa is a very complex character with lots of different facets to her, which is why I chose to write about her.

My favourite fictional character - Optimus Prime

My favourite fictional character is Optimus prime from the movies Transformers. He is the leader of the Autobots whose enemies are the vicious Decepticons. Optimus Prime was the last born of the thirteen original Autobots but when Unicron brought chaos to the city he departed ways with them.
Optimus prime, when transformed is a semi-trailer truck. His colours are red and blue. When Prime is on the battlefield, he uses his ion blaster and his energon-axe which are both deadly in combat. He is easily the strongest Autobot his size. Being the most popular transformer in all of his movies, we all know he would never betray his Autobots and would sacrifice his robotic life to protect them. This loyalty is something I really admire of him.
Optimus Prime has been a terrific leader for the Autobots. He has brilliant combat tactics and always makes the right decisions. He tries to trust and live alongside the human race with Sam Witwicky in several transformer movies.
Over the years, Prime has had quite a few different names. Here is a few of them; Orion Pax, Optronix, Optimus Major, Primer Prime and currently, as we know him, Optimus Prime. He also has a few nicknames including Big Boss and Roller.
Prime has nearly died on a number of occasions in Transformers. He was severely damaged by, his arch nemesis, Megatron in the early cartoon series of Transformers when he was known as Orion Pax. He was reborn again when Alpha Trion rebuilt him from the few bits of him that still was working and also renamed him as Optimus Prime. He died in generation 2 where he was killed by the Swarm which is a cloud like black mass that was accidentally created by the misuse of budding which is the reproduction of transformers. The cloud like swarm stupidly reconstructed him as the Decepticons wanted to keep him prisoner. This was not a good idea as Prime was smarter than them and helped Rodimus Prime and Circuit Smasher with his escape but during his escape, he died in the Primis Chamber in Rodimus’s arms, but he was resurrected and he evolved again by the power of the Matrix.
I love Optimus Prime because he is an exceptional fighter and action films, being my favourite mean I love nothing more than to watch him in battle. I think he is an unique character in Transformers and he is the robot in disguise who is simply unmatchable.

My favourite fictional character - Ms Piggy

Miss Piggy is fundamental to the phenomenal success of ‘The Muppets’. She is a diva sow who is quite full of herself and convinced that she is bound for stardom and fame. While she has a face of allurement and feminine charm she is in need of anger management. If she ever feels deprived of attention or insulted, Miss Piggy tends to karate chop those who anger her.
Miss Piggy is of course a Muppet Pig. As well as being the central female character on the show, she is also a singer, an actress, a magazine editor and a fashionista. She is short and stumpy with a crinkled nose and pointed ears, that stick out of her blonde hair that she tends to style frequently. Miss Piggy at times has big curls or beachy waves as well as having her hair straight. Aside from her hair she has an amazing sense of style. She never wears the same outfit twice. Miss Piggy has every sort of clothing item, from designer dresses to seven inch heels and her pearl necklace that she always seems to wear. We must not forget her cutest accessory. Her miniature poodle Foo-Foo.
Miss Piggy was born above Beckers Butcher Shop in a small town. Her father chased after other sows and her mother had so many piglets that she never had the time to develop her mind. “I'll die before I live like that!” Protested Miss Piggy before running away to the big city. Life was hard at first. To make ends meet she walked a sandwich board for a barbecue stand. Desperate, she took a stage name, Laverne, and entered a beauty contest. She won and got her big break. A bacon commercial. This led to a season as a mascot for a local TV sportscast called Pigskin Parade and then onto The Muppet Show.
Miss piggy first broke into show business when she won the Miss Bogen County beauty contest where she first met the love of her life ‘Kermie” and the gang. Then in 1976 she started out on the muppet show as part of the chorus. Thanks to her charisma and skills in karate, Piggy made her presence known and soon became the female lead in the show. From then on her career expanded to her appearing on TV specials, home videos, records and books. She also has been on the cover of countless magazines.
Miss Piggy has always had two lifelong obsessions: her stardom and her love for Kermit the Frog. Miss Piggy has gone near and far to try and convince, fool and force the frog into matrimony. All of Miss Piggy and Kermit's weddings have been fictional, and when they announced that they were breaking up Miss Piggy answered the press by saying“ Dating moi is like flying close to the sun. It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to the ground while I stayed in the heavens.” Typical Piggy!
Miss Piggy is a Premadonna pig that has an independent mind. She sees what she wants and she goes for it. She can be offended at times but is very persuasive. It would be no surprise to me if she was the main character in the next muppet movie.

On The 13th Day of Christmas my True Love Gave to Me…
a Disney Frozen Snow Glow Elsa!

Dublin was beautiful in the winter; glittering snow covered every inch of Stephen’s Green making it appear like a winter wonderland. Not many people were as foolish as I and had ventured out in this weather on Christmas Eve but I’d forgotten to buy my sister a gift. The sharp cold wind nipped at my exposed face, my red nose lit up against my pale flesh. I shuddered, hugging my parka tight against my freezing body. I watched my breath float out of my mouth and waft up into the night air like smoke from a cigarette.
My little sister, Katie, would be so disappointed. I could picture her innocent little face, the insincerity of her smile as she thanked me for the uninspiring gift I’d bought her. I’d purchased her a generic doll that every single girl her age would have and more than likely detested immensely. She had told me exactly what she wanted months ago, a Disney Frozen Snow Glow Elsa, and yet I’d failed to get my hands on one. I was so annoyed with myself. I was dreading tomorrow morning when I’d have to hand her the wrapped present.
I glanced down at my watch. My mam would be waiting to pick me up and she would not be pleased if we didn’t arrive home in time for midnight mass.
As the snow crunched under my boots I gazed ahead of me. On a bench stood a robin, its red belly like a light against the white carpet of snow. I stopped in my tracks and stared. I hadn’t seen a robin all winter. The robin flew off the bench and I watched it disappear into the night sky. The next thing I knew, I felt a new weight on my shoulder. I turned to see the robin staring at me with its small beady eyes and the corners of my mouth twitched up into a smile. Then the robin suddenly grasped a bunch of my hair in its beak and began to tug. I yelped in pain-since when did robins show an interest in human hair, especially when it’s still attached to a head? And wasn’t the nest building season over?
The robin took flight with my hair still wedged in its beak tugging me towards a copse of trees. I was dragged through the branches of the trees into a large clearing. The robin released me and I staggered forward, I let my eyes take in the open space. I sucked in a cold breath. There, in the middle of the clearing, was a huge crimson red sleigh with a fat, white haired man who wore a red suit sitting comfortably inside. Eight reindeer stood grazing in the clearing. The man turned having spied me through a pair of travel goggles; he smiled happily and stepped down from the sleigh. He hurried over to me with the grin still plastered to his face.
“Miss Evelyn Harris, I assume?” the man asked in a warm genial tone. My jaw dropped in utter shock. How did this stranger know my name?! “Do close your mouth Miss Harris, you don’t want to catch flies” he chuckled. I quickly snapped my mouth shut.
“How do you know my name?” I asked, my eyes narrowing suspiciously. I took a step back and folded my arms over my chest, the bag holding my sister’s gift slung securely on my shoulder. This nutcase could be some homeless guy who robbed people but then again…he didn’t really look particularly suspicious.
“I remember all your letters that you sent me; it’s a pity you don’t write to me anymore. Mrs Claus misses your inquiries about her wellbeing very much.”
“Claus?” I whispered slowly. Claus, red sleigh, eight reindeer and he knew my name. Could he be…no! Saint Nick wasn’t real. I had learnt that years ago, this was clearly some weird old man who must have accessed my Facebook page.
“Seeing isn’t believing, believing is seeing,” he said and handed me a red bag with a bright yellow bow stuck to it “I hope to hear from you next year Evelyn.” With that he disappeared along with the sleigh and the eight reindeer. I stood there transfixed. What had just happened?
I peered into the bag he’d just given me, being careful to make sure it wasn’t a bomb, and took out the box. A grin spread across my face quickly and I whooped happily. It was a Disney Frozen Snow Glow Elsa! The gift little Katie had wanted! I dashed out of the clearing and back onto the icy path, just about managing to keep my balance. I retrieved the unimpressive gift I’d bought for Katie and dumped it unceremoniously into a nearby bin, then sped towards where my mam had parked. I saw her car in the distance then heard the ringing of sleigh bells, I gazed up to the sky and saw a shadow fly across the moon. The jolly laughter of Santa Claus rang through the night air. It was true, Father Christmas was real!
As I climbed into the passenger of the car, my mam eagerly inquired “Well, what did you buy Katie?”. I pulled out the Elsa doll and her snow glow glistened magically in the darkness. My mam’s face lit up like a Christmas tree. “How on earth did you get that doll?!”
“I had a little help…” I smirked.

My Aspirations for the Future

I have always wanted to be a writer. I would like to be the type of writer that can make a difference to people’s lives, no matter how small or insignificant that difference may seem. I want to be someone that people will think of and say “I love her books”. I don’t have any great desire to become rich and famous. I’m not bothered about having a huge fan base, although that would be nice! What’s most important is that the fans I have would care. I hope to write books that contain a message. If I could be an inspiration to others, that would be great. I want to be the next generation’s J.K. Rowling, not because of popularity, but because her books mean so much for many people.
I am prepared to make the sacrifices necessary to achieve my goal. I am prepared to work full-time and to write by night to do anything it takes. An object that symbolises my aspirations for the future is my notebook. I purchased it when I was in Third class. Over the years I have written down many thoughts and ideas in this notebook that may someday become part of my stories. As I already mentioned I very much admire J.K. Rowling. In fact, she is my idol. Her career began in a train station with a notebook and a pen. Now look where that got her!
