Our school was invited to attend the 'Going Green' of the Great Wall for St. Patrick's Day. The students performed traditional Irish step dances and ceilí dances. They had the opportunity to meet the Ambassador Mr. Paul Kavanagh, his wife and other dignitaries. The group also attended the Irish Embassy in Beijing as guests of the Ambassador. It was a very memorable trip, and a huge success in enhancing the students’ knowledge and appreciation of Chinese language and culture. Irish Times News Article
On Friday morning we left the school bright and early at 9am to head for the airport to start our exciting journey. Many of the students had just arrived back from Killary Adventure Centre in Galway or the Fresh Film Final in Limerick the night before so were all set to sleep on the (very) long flight. We'll have to see how internet access is once we land but we hope to keep you all posted on our trip as it unfolds.
