Chemistry

Studying Chemistry at senior level aims to develop the student’s knowledge, understanding, skills, and competence in this field and explain the contributions of Chemistry to the modern world. Students will gain knowledge of basic chemical terminology, facts, principles and methods, scientific theories and their limitations, social, historical, environmental, technological and economic aspects of chemistry. Students will perform experiments safely and cooperatively, select and manipulate apparatus to perform specified tasks, make accurate observations and measurements, interpret experimental data and assess the accuracy of experimental results. A good overall understanding of Junior Certificate Science is a necessary foundation.
