Calculator Needed
All first year students are required to have the same calculator. We would ask that all purchase a Casio Scientific fx-83 natural display calculator. Teachers will be using the Casio emulator during class.

send it to you. It is also available on the school intranet by clicking here.
Academic Competitions and other Co-curricular Activities
Our first year students are encouraged to embrace the various in-school co-curricular activities, quizes and national competitions that are run throughout the academic year.In October, during the annual Maths Week, a 40 minute table quiz is organised by the department and administered by the class teacher. Prizes are presented to the best team and to the best class. Later in the year all First year students will be given the chance to take part in the annual First Year Maths competition that is organised on a national basis by the Irish Maths Teacher's Association.
All our First year students are also invited to attend the various lectures, demonstrations and videos that will be organised in the Demo room at various stages through the year.
