Irish Debating TeamThe Senior Irish Debating Team competed in the regional Semi-Finals of the Gael-Linn School's Debating Competition on January 8th in Dunshaughlin Community College. The team was made up of three six year students; Kevin O'Brien, John Kerr and Ciarán O'Sullivan. The motion was "Tá feirmeoirí na tíre seo ar mhuin na muice" (Farmers in this country are on the pigs back) and the boys were arguing against the motion. They competed against three other teams, Loreto Balbriggan, Sandford Park School and St Joseph of Cluny, Killiney. Each of the boys performed very well and had very strong points as they had been preparing over the Christmas holidays. Unfortunately they did not succeed in going through to the Regional Finals but they were awarded Certificates on the night and were commended by the Chairperson.
