The role of the Guidance Counsellor in St. Colmcille’s Community School is to support and encourage each individual student. It is a person centred approach. Ms Kenny works with individuals and may give them guidance and counselling in the following areas of their lives:


The function of the Guidance Department is to provide the following services:


Counselling (personal/ career and educational)

Personal and Social Development

Psychological Testing

Career Information Management

Consultation with parents, staff and support agencies

Vocational preparation (Interview skills etc)
