After School Study in St Colmcille's - 2017/18

Note: After School Study is now full for 2017/18

St. Colmcille’s Community School will once again be offering After School Study facilities this forthcoming academic year. This facility will provide students with an opportunity to develop a structured approach to their studies in preparation for their state and school examinations.

After school study will take place Monday to Thursday from 4pm–6pm.  The year will be divided as follows:
  • Monday 11th Sept 2017 to Wednesday 20th Dec 2017
  • Monday 8th Jan 2018 to Thursday 24th May 2018

If you wish to enroll your son/daughter for after school study the cost is €300. When enrolling two students from the same family the cost is €540.  Student attendance at after school study will be stamped into their homework journal daily. Please check journal regularly to monitor attendance.

Rules

  1.  Students are to be seated in their assigned seat, in full school uniform, with all books and equipment required, ready to start studying at 4pm sharp.
  2. Students attending study are not permitted to leave the school premises between the end of school day (3.45) and the start of study at 4pm.  
  3. Students involved in extra-curricular activities can attend study afterwards.  Entry times are 4.30 and 5.00 only.  Students will only be permitted to the study centre at these times with a note from the relevant teacher.
  4.  No talking/ communicating in the centre.  
  5. Students may only leave study early with a note from parent/ guardian.  (Exit times with note: 4.30, 5pm, 5.30)
  6. Any child absent from school or who has left school early may not attend study without prior permission from the coordinator.  
  7. Students should leave the school premises in an orderly manner at 6pm.
  8. All other school rules apply at After School Study.
