Principal's Welcome

Picture
St Colmcille’s CS is a co-educational, 2nd level community school established in the year 2000 on a greenfield site on the Scholarstown Road in the heart of Knocklyon. The vision of this community in seeking a 2nd level school was to retain its most valuable asset, its young people, in the local area.

We are truly blessed that the Carmelite community committed to be trustees of our school and we value their vision and spiritual guidance in developing our ethos. Their continued partnership with us contributes significantly to the quality of the educational experience here at St. Colmcille’s.

We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum so that all our students have the opportunity to succeed at the highest level of their own individual talents, aptitudes and abilities. Our students achieve high levels of success in the State Examinations and our past pupils are well represented in a wide range of 3rd level courses and careers. We strongly encourage students and parents to become involved in the social, cultural, spiritual, intellectual and sporting life of the school.

We pride ourselves in being a progressive and modern school where the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning is continuously being developed by a highly motivated, talented and professional staff. We are fortunate to have a purpose built and well resourced facility here in Knocklyon, designed to meet the ever changing educational needs and expectations of a modern society.

We place a high value on our co-operation with parents as it is only in partnership with them that we may together ensure our students will realise their full potential in all aspects of their lives. St Colmcille’s CS is a safe and caring environment where students are valued and encouraged in all their efforts. We enjoy a friendly and positive atmosphere in the school as well as mutually beneficial relations with all our partners and neighbours in the community.

Níl dabht ar bith can gur fearr an áit í Cnoc Liamhna dá gcuid saoránaigh mar gheall ar thionchar na scoile seo.
